Health benefits of kayaking


Kayaking is a serene and yet exciting activity that lets you enjoy nature’s beauty at a slow pace.  It gives you a near-water view that really immerses you in the environment and wildlife.  Not only is it fun, but it also has many health benefits. Here are some examples.

 It reduces stress. Kayaking offers a relaxing experience as you spend hours close to nature while you maneuver your boat through the water. Kayaking on a regular basis is a good way to release stress because it is also a good form of exercise and it clears the mind while you’re enjoying the beautiful scenery around you.

It is a good form of upper body workout. 
 The repetitive action of executing strokes uses all the muscles in the upper body. Just by going at a slow pace of 3 mph, you can do 1,500 repetitions of upper body movements. This will tone the muscles in the upper body no matter what workout or fitness regimen you have. 

It strengthens the core. As you row your kayak, you are also toning your abdominal muscles. Balance also plays a huge part in controlling a kayak, therefore conditioning your core. As you turn the kayak, your core muscles are also engaged.
